AJ Styles exposes his behind to the WWE audience.
WORLD Wrestling Entertainment was once known for its scantily-clad women, foul language and violence, but since the company went PG some years ago, it’s made an attempt to clean up its image.
However, that approach took a hit at Monday’s TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) pay-per-view, when WWE world heavyweight champion AJ Styles ended up showing a little more than he bargained for.
Styles, performing in the main event of the three-hour show, experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction when a hole appeared in his tights midway through the match, exposing his buttocks to the world.
The episode did bring amusement to the WWE audience — and spilt across to social media. Styles however remained ever the professional and continued on with the match as if nothing untoward had occurred.
Many fans believed the incident was simply a result of fabric giving way, however Styles took to Twitter following the event to reveal the incident was indeed much more violent and painful than first thought.
The WWE champion was competing in the famed Tables, Ladders and Chairs match from which the event gets its name, where you are allowed, within the confines of sports entertainment, to attack your opponent with any and all of the items listed above.
Styles was sent crashing through four steel chairs in one of the more dangerous moments in the match. The move left Styles with a sliced left cheek and a tear through his ring gear.
The champion made light of the situation, informing WWE fans that things could have been worse. “You were all in no danger of seeing my butthole,” Styles tweeted.
Fortunately for Styles, he would go on to retain his championship in one of the most exciting matches of the year.
If only that was what the majority of fans were talking about afterwards.
