For years now, many have wondered if Jeff Hardy (Brother Nero) and Matt Hardy (“Broken”) would bring the Hardy Boyz back to WWE from TNA. At times, it seemed like it was going to happen, but no one really or truly knows. Now, the Hardy Boyz are the face of TNA Impact Wrestling, but that hasn’t stopped Jeff from discussing his ultimate dream match and talking about a return to WWE sometime in the future.
There is no doubt that the Hardy Boyz have ultimately carved their names into the wrestling history books as they have succeeded in numerous organizations. Currently, Jeff has taken on the persona of Brother Nero and partnered again with his brother, “Broken” Matt, to reform their tag team and take over TNA.
As of this writing, they are the TNA World Tag Team Champions and preparing for Total Non-Stop Deletion on Dec. 15. It will take place at The Hardy Compound in North Carolina, and it really makes it seem as if Jeff and Matt have it all together and have everything they could possibly want.
Still, do they miss WWE?

Sports Illustrated recently had Jeff Hardy speak out in his own words about things and let him talk about everything going on in his life. He brought up the fact that he and his brother Matt have been out of WWE for quite some time, and many wonder if they’re going back to Vince McMahon’s company in the future.
“People always ask Matt and I if we’ll ever go back to WWE, but we are having such a good time with this creative liberty in TNA. We’re able to do what we want to do. The show is built around us, and that’s something that makes me really proud.”
So, for anyone wondering if Jeff and Matt are heading to WWE anytime soon, you really shouldn’t count on it.
It’s obvious by that statement that he is truly enjoying his current run in TNA Impact Wrestling, and why shouldn’t he? The company is very much centered on what he and his brother are doing, and that’s made obvious by the fact that an entire episode of its weekly TV show is happening at their home, as reported by Cageside Seats.
Now, even though Brother Nero isn’t prepared to leave TNA and return to WWE just yet, he does have a dream match in mind, and it would require a return to WWE. If it went Jeff’s way, his dream match would be against a man who would probably never leave WWE; The Undertaker.

In 2015, Jeff re-signed with TNA, and things have been history since then, but his dream before that was to go back to WWE. The reason he wanted to return was so he could face off with The Undertaker in a huge match at the biggest event of the year.
“…I had wanted to return to WWE. I wanted to wrestle Undertaker at a Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania.”
‘Taker is just the man. He is the locker room leader that everybody looks up to in wrestling. If you watch the way he wrestles, you can learn so much. His entrance is just chilling.”
Jeff went on to remember opening the doors for The Undertaker’s entrance at King of the Ring back in 1995. As a young up-and-coming star, he remembers seeing The Undertaker that night and being in awe of the man who was walking before him to the ring.
Earlier this summer, LA Weekly spoke with Jeff about his career, and he even detailed how he would like to finish it off. He gave exact specifics as to how he would like to call it quits in the world of professional wrestling.
“Man, I want to Swanton off the top of the cell, onto the commentary table. Then, I want to climb the cell, cut the f–king cage, when Taker’s back in the ring, and Swanton though the cage, miss, and then Tombstone 1-2-3.”
Even now, months later, Jeff still has that dream in mind of taking on The Undertaker at WrestleMania, inside Hell in a Cell and losing clean. Considering the legendary status of The Deadman, that’s not a bad ambition.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the two superstars have faced off, though. During one of his WWE runs, Jeff did face The Undertaker in a Hardcore Championship match, but there is one battle they had which is remembered for much more.

On the July 1, 2002, episode of Monday Night Raw, Jeff Hardy took on The Undertaker in a Ladder Match for the WWE Undisputed Championship. It is quite possibly one of the most underrated matches of all time and an extremely hidden gem for any wrestling fan.
The Undertaker went on to win the match and retain his title, but Jeff received something huge after the match. As he made it to his feet after a grueling fight, The Undertaker walked over, raised Jeff’s hand above his head, and showed the kid that he had earned his respect.
For now, he’s content in TNA, but if he has his way and really wants that retirement dream match against The Undertaker, a company switch will need to take place.
The Hardy Boyz went from being one of the biggest things in wrestling to being rather obscure and jumping from company to company to once again being one of the biggest things in wrestling. Jeff Hardy/Brother Nero and “Broken” Matt Hardy really are the focus of TNA Impact Wrestling right now, but it’s obvious that WWE is never far from their minds. That being said, if Jeff ever wants to make the jump again, The Undertaker might be waiting.
