A robber looking for someone to buy him a beer picked the wrong man to mess with.
Instead of getting his beer, he ended up getting body-slammed by a former WWE pro wrestler.
According to Coral Springs police, Shad Gaspard — who once portrayed a criminal as half of the tag team Cryme Tyme — was at the drink cooler Saturday night at Valero Gas Station, 4550 N. University Dr., when Jason Felix approached him.
Felix brandished what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun. Store surveillance video showed Gaspard making quick work of disarming Felix.
The 6-foot, 7-inch man then “escorted” Felix out of the gas station and through him to ground and detained him until police got there, according to Felix's police report. Felix was charged with robbery.
During his time in the WWE, Gaspard partnered with another wrestler named JTG and the two dressed in baggy clothes and posed as criminals.
The company said the duo was intended to be a parody and that the stereotypical presentation was meant to be humorous. Gaspard was eventually released from WWE in 2010. He has continued to wrestle for smaller wrestling promotions and made appearances in the films “Think Like a Man Too” and “Get Hard.”
