Fan favourite hints at leaving WWE in the future - GiveMeSport

It's safe to say Daniel Bryan has done a brilliant job as SmackDown LIVE general manager.

However, every member of the WWE Universe will know that it's not his dream job, and it's something he does because he has to, rather than because he wants to.

Bryan is under contract with WWE and that is why he returned as the general manager after being forced to retire early due to a series of concussion problems.

It's been well documented that Bryan suffered from depression after being told to retire from wrestling, but having his wife Brie Bella by his side has made things a lot better for the former WWE Champion.

The 35-year-old had some positive news earlier this year that his wife was expecting their first child, a baby girl, and because of that, he is now unsure if he wants to stick around as SmackDown LIVE general manager.

Bryan has admitted that it's tough to be so close to wrestling without being able to compete himself, and that could eventually push him away from WWE, and in a recent podcast, he's admitted that the birth of his first child could see him leave his role as general manager.

Speaking on Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Bryan claimed that he sometimes doesn't even want to be on SmackDown LIVE, and with the addition of a baby, that could make things even harder for him.

He said: “Once we have the baby that is the tough part.

"It’s like, man, do I really want to leave the baby… It’s like; there are times on Smackdown that I don’t even want to be on it. I only want to be on it when it’s absolutely necessary for me as the GM for me to be out there.”

Bryan is currently having an on-screen feud with Intercontinental Champion The Miz, and is also building a possible rivalry with Baron Corbin, but given his latest comments, it looks like a future away from WWE could be a real possibility.

He continued: “I can’t do anything else, nor do I know how to do anything else.

"Now I’m like a pool boy, Brie has her reality show; she’s an Executive Producer on ‘Total Bellas,’ her and Nicole, they’re on ‘Total Bellas,’ ‘Total Divas,’ they’re Ambassadors for WWE; they’ve got this wine, they’re doing all this stuff, and then it’s like, well, what am I doing? I’m a GM and Talking Smack.”
