Why The Hardy Boys Might Have A Hard Time Returning To WWE - Comicbook.com

The Dixie Carter reign has finally come to an end over at TNA, and new owners Anthem Entertainment are most likely looking to sure up their top drawing stars, including Broken Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy.

Even so, the duo is bound to draw interest from the WWE, especially as the company looks to fill out its roster for the rest of this year. There are any number of tag teams that would benefit from having the Hardy Boys back in action, and rumors are that WWE is interested in bringing them back into the fold. That said, there might be one major roadblock that could keep that from happening, and it has to do with Jeff Hardy.

It's no secret that Jeff struggled with drugs during his previous WWE tenure, and he's also struggled with it after he left the company. While he seems to be doing just fine these days, WWE's wellness policy might make the company a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on a deal (via Inquisitr). It stipulates “Any WWE Talent, who leaves the WWE for any reason with a first or second violation on his/her record, will maintain said violation count on his/her record from the time he/she departs WWE until the time he/she returns, if ever, to the WWE.”

Jeff Hardy left the company with two strikes already against him, so even after all this time if he were to return and get another strike he would be immediately done with the WWE. It would certainly derail their plans if he were to get another strike, so they might have to think twice before basing any long-term plans around him.
