We look at the WWE Superstars set for a big 2017, including new Smackdown Tag Team Champions American Alpha and Baron Corbin.

Which WWE Superstars are set for success in 2017?

We've picked out a mixture of Raw and Smackdown wrestlers - four singles stars and a tag team - that should go from strength to strength this year.

Check out our picks below and then watch the video at the top of the page to see them in action.

American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan)

2016 highlight: Becoming Smackdown Tag Team Champions
Brand: Smackdown
Twitter handle: @WWEGable | @JasonJordanJJ

American Alpha will begin the year as Smackdown Tag Team Champions, having dethroned The Wyatt Family on the final blue-brand episode of 2016, Gable and Jordan blasting Randy Orton with Grand Amplitude to take the twin titles.

Uber-talented in the ring due to their strong amateur backgrounds - Gable even competed at the London 2012 Olympics - the former NXT Tag Team Champions will be eyeing a lengthy reign with the Smackdown straps, despite plenty of competition on Tuesday nights.

Bayley

2016 highlight: Securing victory for Team Raw at Survivor Series
Brand: Raw
Twitter handle: @itsBayleyWWE

Bayley's goal in 2017 is to claim the Raw Women's Title, having seen former NXT contemporaries, Sasha Banks and Charlotte, battle for it during the latter half of 2016. The fan favourite - seriously, Scottish fans went nuts for her in Glasgow during the autumn - has all the skills, as she proved at Survivor Series in November to ensure bragging rights for Raw's women over Smackdown's, her Bayley-to-Belly Suplex on Becky Lynch earning the crucial pinfall for the red brand.

Baron Corbin

2016 highlight: Winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Brand: Smackdown
Twitter handle:@BaronCorbinWWE

Having honed his skills on NXT, Corbin shot into the spotlight in April when he triumphed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, lastly eliminating Kane. The Lone Wolf, a former American footballer and boxer, has continued to impress since being drafted to Smackdown, showing in last week's WWE Title Triple Threat, where he more than hung with AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler, that his future is extremely bright. If he hits End of Days on you, goodnight!

Braun Strowman

2016 highlight: Going on an undefeated streak
Brand: Raw
Twitter handle:@BraunStrowman

Strowman was separated from The Wyatt Family during the WWE Draft but has flourished, not floundered on his own. Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are three of the grapplers to feel his force, while he annihilated James Ellsworth at Survivor Series, hurling The Chinless Wonder off the stage. Expect Strowman - who is lethal when he has a Christmas tree in his hands - to remain WWE's most monstrous Superstar in 2017 and perhaps even go after the Universal Title.

The Undertaker

2016 highlight: Beating Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32
Brand: Smackdown
Twitter handle: N/A

Undertaker had a quiet 2016, with his only match coming when he overcame Shane McMahon in a rumbustious Hell in a Cell Match at WrestleMania, the Phenom's 23rd victory out of 24 at WWE's biggest event. Yet, he returned prior to Survivor Series to warn Smackdown's Superstars that he was back "taking souls and digging holes." Taker hasn't been seen since but it appears there is still plenty of life left in him as we approach WrestleMania season. Watch this space...
