6 WWE Hall of Fame snubs that should really bother you - cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The WWE Hall of Fame has always been an interesting institution.

First, it's not an actual institution in the physical sense, considering there's no building where the inductees are honored. Second, there's no real formula to who gets inducted, other than Vince McMahon and his inner circle determining its someone's time.

Still, fans flock to the annual Hall of Fame Ceremony that takes place before WrestleMania. And with news of WCW legend Diamond Dallas Page being inducted this April, we take a look at six longtime snubs that should join him.

Chyna

One of the most often asked questions about the WWE Hall of Fame is when Chyna (Joan Laurer) will be inducted. The groundbreaking women's wrestler was a key member of DX and remains the only woman to win the Intercontinental Championship. The fact that her post-WWE career featured adult films and she had a personal relationship with Triple H is probably what's kept her out. But given Laurer's passing last April, WWE has warmed up to the idea of her being inducted.

Davey Boy Smith

Davey Boy Smith, aka the British Bulldog, is arguably the greatest WWE star never to with the World Heavyweight Championship. But that didn't stop him from becoming one of the most popular and essential wrestlers of his era, helping WWE establish a fanbase in the UK and deliver some of the more memorable matches in history, including his legendary SummerSlam 1992 showdown with Bret Hart.

Rick Rude

Ravishing Rick Rude was more than just a pretty face and a Burt Reynolds mustache. He was brilliant in-ring performer and the perfect heel at important times in the careers of Macho Man Randy Savage, Sting and the Ultimate Warrior.

Demolition

Demolition's case for the Hall of Fame was only made stronger in 2016 when WWE went on and on about The New Day breaking the Demolition's tag-team championship streak. Along with the Rockers, Legion of Doom and Hart Foundation, Demolition was a integral part of WWE's golden era of tag teams.

Miss Elizabeth

Though she never wrestled a memorable match, Miss Elizabeth is as important a figure during WWE's golden age as anyone. She stood by Macho Man's side for much of his career and was key in the Mega Powers storyline involving Hulk Hogan. Elizabeth remains a legendary figure in the industry and should take her place in the Hall of Fame.

Owen Hart

The WWE Hall of Fame can be as much about industry politics than celebration of wrestling legends. Even Vince McMahon would tell you how amazing Owen Hart was. However, his tragic death during a WWE pay-per-view and the Hart family's complicated relationship with WWE afterwards is probably why Owen isn't in the Hall of Fame...yet.
